STATEMENT
Chloe Lazaroo is an emerging Western Australian artist currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Fine Arts at the University of Western Australia. Working primarily across painting and participatory installation works, she resists being confined to a single way of making. Her practice is driven by an interest in the experiences, small moments and relationships that shape the way we understand the lives we are building and our place within a wider human narrative.
Lazaroo is interested in what happens when we disrupt the routines and environments that make us feel comfortable, and how distance can change the way we see both ourselves and the places we have come from. Her work reflects an ongoing desire to find new versions of herself through these experiences, rather than arriving at any fixed idea of who she is meant to be.
